Instructions

  1. 1

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef or sausage, parmesan cheese, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully integrated.

  2. 2

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. 3

Shape the meat mixture into 12 equal-sized patties, about 1/2 inch thick. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

  4. 4

Bake the patties in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until they are cooked through and have reached an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

  5. 5

While the patties are baking, slice the slider buns in half and brush the cut sides lightly with olive oil. Toast them in a skillet or directly in the oven until golden brown.

  6. 6

Once the patties are done, assemble the sliders: On the bottom half of each bun, place a patty, followed by a spoonful of marinara sauce, a sprinkle of chopped basil, and sliced pepperoncini if desired.

  7. 7

Top with the other half of the bun and gently press down to secure.

  8. 8

Optional: Place assembled sliders back in the oven for an additional 5 minutes to warm through.

Chef's Notes

Arrange the sliders on a large platter, garnishing with additional fresh basil on the side. Serve with small bowls of extra marinara sauce for dipping.
